With the current serious air pollution, smog has threatened people’s lives and health. I feel uncomfortable in the morning, my nose is uncomfortable, and I have no spirit. Pushing open the window, I wanted to breathe fresh air, and the outside was foggy. At this time, your room may need an air purifier.
The air purifier filters impurities, smoke, viruses and other harmful substances in the air to purify the air.
Since the room is in a relatively confined space, the release of contaminants is slow, especially in smoggy weather, and the air in the room is as bad as the outside. In the newly renovated house, harmful substances such as formaldehyde cannot be quickly discharged. At this time, an air purifier with formaldehyde removal function is necessary, which can purify the room air in a short time. If someone is smoking at home, the air purifier can smoke at a very fast speed, avoiding the harm of secondhand smoke.
The use of air purifiers to purify indoor air has become an internationally recognized effective way to improve indoor air quality.
If there are pregnant women, infants, and elderly people in the family, the body is weak, and an air purifier in the room can bring you and your family a healthy and comfortable life.

Do you want to open the window when using an air purifier?
Speaking of air purifiers, everyone is familiar. Whether it is the pressure of smog or the danger of formaldehyde, I believe many people have already bought one. In the process of using, some users may have a question. After using the air purifier, Do you want to open the window to ventilate?
Some people will think that since you can purify the air, if you open the window, even if the outdoor pollution comes in, it is not the same purification. There is a cognitive misunderstanding here. When you open the doors and windows, although there will be new air coming in, in fact, many pollutants will also enter the room, and it will continue to enter the room, in this case, purification After that, the clean air will only be swallowed up by the dirty air, which greatly affects the effect of the air purifier.
As we all know, the air purifier is a device for circulating indoor air. In theory, it is necessary to close the doors and windows for use. But there will be a problem here. There is no input of fresh air. The air in the room is clean again, and it will also have a dull feeling. Once the personnel are intensive, the carbon dioxide will definitely exceed the standard. Such problems are indeed very troublesome. After all, it is related to the physical and mental health of yourself and your family.
Although the use of an air purifier to open the window can affect the purification effect, we can perform proper window ventilation. This will avoid excessive carbon dioxide. However, the time to open the window is also very particular. Generally speaking, when the outdoor air quality is not good, such as smog, simple ventilation, it is appropriate to open the window at 11:00 in the morning and 3:00 in the afternoon. 30 minutes. Of course, this should be adjusted according to the outdoor air quality.
However, when the window is ventilated, the air purifier can be temporarily turned off, and the use of the filter must be paid attention to, and maintenance and replacement should be carried out in time. Otherwise, the filter will become another source of pollution, so that the air purifier becomes a ‘poison machine.’

1. There are about 3 billion people worldwide who use cooking biomass (wood, animal waste, crop waste) and open fires and simple stoves for cooking and heating.
2. More than 4 million people died prematurely due to diseases caused by indoor air pollution caused by cooking with solid fuel;
3, more than 50% is due to inhalation of particulate matter caused by indoor air pollution, causing premature death of children under 5 years old caused by pneumonia;
4. Each year, 3.8 million people die prematurely due to indoor air pollution leading to non-communicable diseases such as stroke, ischemic heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and lung cancer.
The working principle of the top 10 hepa air purifier 2018 is to circulate indoor air through the motor and fan in the machine. The polluted air passes through the air filter in the machine to remove or adsorb various pollutants. Some top home air purifiers are also at the air outlet. An negative ion generator is installed (the high voltage in the negative ion generator generates a DC negative high voltage during operation), and the air is continuously ionized to generate a large amount of negative ions, which are sent out by the micro fan to form a negative ion gas flow, thereby achieving the purpose of cleaning and purifying the air.
What is the role of the air purifier? Its function can be more than one or two simple!
As air quality declines, people are paying more and more attention to the air environment and taking measures to improve the surrounding environment. Among them, most people use air purifiers as a mitigation measure, how much the air purifier has, and then look at the role of the air purifier.
1. The air purifier can remove particulate matter in the air, such as PM2.5, bacteria, pollen, etc., and the purification effect is good.
2, in addition to gaseous pollutants, such as formaldehyde, stupid, garbage odor, glue paint smell and other odor.
3. Release negative ions or fresh air such as water ions, negative oxygen ions and nano mist.
4. Machines with humidification function can increase air comfort.
There are many different technologies and media in the air purifier that enable it to provide clean and safe air to the user. Commonly used air purification technologies include: adsorption technology, negative (positive) ion technology, catalytic technology, photocatalytic technology, superstructure photomineralization technology, HEPA high efficiency filtration technology, electrostatic dust collection technology, etc.; material technology mainly includes: photocatalyst, activated carbon, Synthetic fiber, HEAP high efficiency material, negative ion generator, etc. The existing indoor air purifiers are mostly compounded, that is, a plurality of purification technologies and material media are simultaneously used.
Today’s air purifiers generally use the function of removing dust and removing mist to remove formaldehyde and humidify negative ions. The filter style of the air purifier occasionally produces some acid odor after a period of use. The good and bad of various household air purifiers should be judged according to the amount of CADR and CCM except for formaldehyde and PM2.5 of each machine.
It used to be wrong! Air purifiers should be used in order to function
In recent years, smog has almost become a hot topic in the world. Once in winter, the problem of smog has become more and more serious. The whole of North China is shrouded in a cloud of smoke, but it does not give people a feeling of poetry. The only worry is It is a health problem.
Winter fog is known as the “winter killer”. The fog looks mild, but it contains a lot of pathogens such as bacteria and germs. In addition, industrial waste gas, automobile exhaust and other pollutants adhere to these water droplets. These substances will be on the human body. The respiratory tract is harmful. If it enters the lungs, it is easy to cause upper respiratory tract infection, acute tracheobronchitis and pneumonia.
Many families choose to buy an top 10 best home air purifiers to solve indoor air quality problems, but many people have many misunderstandings when using air purifiers. For example, if you have an air purifier, you can do it once and for all. Is this the case? Do you have any misunderstandings below?
The bigger the CADR, the better?
The most direct way to judge the strength of an air purifier is to look at the CADR value. The full name of the CADR English is called the Clean AirDelivery Rate. The higher the CADR value, the higher the purification efficiency of the purifier and the greater the amount of clean air provided.
The higher the CADR value, the higher the efficiency of purifying the air, but it also means that the machine needs more power, consumes more power, is larger, and generates very loud noise. Therefore, when choosing an hot sale air purifier, do not blindly choose a CADR value, you must choose according to your actual situation.
As far as the domestic home environment is concerned, each room is generally between 20 and 30 m2 in size. In this range of use, an air purifier of 230 to 360 m/h should be selected. The living room area is generally 30~55m2, and it is more suitable to choose 350~550m/h. Choosing the air purifier with the appropriate CADR value can minimize the energy consumption and ensure the air purification efficiency is not bad. It is quiet enough.
Can the air purifier remove the formaldehyde?
In daily life, we have to deal with formaldehyde. For example, newly renovated rooms usually have excessive formaldehyde content, and the other is that indoor new furniture will also increase the formaldehyde content. Long-term exposure to formaldehyde can cause chronic poisoning, which can even cause cancer. Therefore, removing formaldehyde from the room is the first problem.
The air purifier has always been considered as an artifact of formaldehyde removal. The principle is that it has a layer of activated carbon filter to reduce the formaldehyde content in the air by the adsorption of activated carbon. It is undoubted that the air purifier can remove formaldehyde, but this is not the best way to purify formaldehyde.
Many people have not conducted in-depth research on formaldehyde, only know its harm, but do not know that the volatilization period of this cargo is as long as 10 to 15 years, and the high evaporation period is also 2 years, and the activated carbon filter in the air purifier is generally used 20 It will reach saturation in the day or so. At this time, the effect of adsorbing formaldehyde has been lost. If the filter is not replaced in time, formaldehyde poisoning may occur.
In addition, indoor formaldehyde can not be cleaned in a short time, low concentration of formaldehyde will also endanger human health, the most appropriate method is to throw away the formaldehyde-dissipating pollutants, and open the window as much as possible under conditions.
Do not replace the filter for a long time
The working principle of the air purifier is similar to that of the lungs. The contaminated air is sucked in first, then adsorbed and filtered through the body, and finally the treated air is released. Among them, adsorption and filtration play a vital role, and the difference in air purifiers is mainly at this stage.
Air purifiers typically use a three-layer filter to filter and adsorb. The first layer is a primary filter that absorbs dust and dust particles and protects other filters. The second layer is an activated carbon layer for removing formaldehyde and odor from the air. The third layer is the HEPA layer, which can stick to PM2.5 dust, bacteria, germs and other pollutants.
When the air purifier is working, the three-layer filter screen is continuously filtering and adsorbing pollutants. After a period of use, the dust collection amount in the filter screen is saturated, and the adsorption performance is obviously reduced, and the accumulation on the filter screen is accumulated. Contaminants are easily blown back into the room, causing secondary pollution.
Some air purifiers on the market have a filter replacement reminder function, but most of them still need to be judged by users. If you are in the South, there are very few empty nets in a year, so you don’t need to change them often. If you are in North China, the air pollution is more serious, the filter must be replaced frequently, try to change it every six months, or even shorter, in order to achieve a better purification effect.
Over-reliance on air purifiers
Many people are used to opening and closing doors and windows for a long time when using empty nets, and relying too much on air purifiers, which is actually very unhealthy for health.
The air purifiers on the market do have a very significant effect on both formaldehyde and PM2.5, but most of them do not have the function of removing carbon dioxide. If a person stays in a tight air chamber for a long time, it will cause the concentration of carbon dioxide in the room to rise continuously. When a certain concentration is reached, there will be discomfort, and in the long run, the biological clock will be disordered. Therefore, even if the air purifier is turned on, it is necessary to ensure regular ventilation.
With the development of the economy, the pollution in the air is getting more and more serious. The poor air quality not only has great harm to people’s health, but also indirectly affects people’s mental health. The air purifier can absorb various pollutants in the air, generally including: PM2.5, pollen, dust, odor, formaldehyde and other pollutants. Are these pollutants harmful to the human body? After reading it, you will know if it is necessary to add an air purifier to your home.
Does the air purifier work? Method / step First, the use of natural air pollution: the intuitive reason for the purifier is natural air pollution. Natural air pollution is what we usually call PM2.5. The harm of the dust itself is not serious, but the PM2.5 particles have large area, strong activity, easy to attach toxic and harmful substances (such as heavy metals, microorganisms, etc.), and have a long residence time in the atmosphere and a long transport distance. The effects of human health and the quality of the atmospheric environment are greater.
Second, pollen: The reason why the use of purifiers, pollen is also an important factor. Many people don’t care about pollen. They think that pollen will not affect themselves. In fact, during the high incidence of pollen, sneezing, runny nose, tears, stuffy nose, etc. are all manifestations of pollen allergy symptoms. Sexual allergies in children and children with severe allergies can inexplicably lose their temper, excessively active, chaotic, huddled under tables and chairs, under the bed or in the dark corners of furniture, and so on.
Does the indoor air purifier work? Third, dust mites: Dust mites allergic patients in addition to anti-mite and anti-mite, dust mite allergies patients will also be allergic to other substances. Dust sputum asthma is inhaled asthma, often in early childhood, has a history of infant eczema, or a history of chronic bronchiolitis. Sudden, recurrent episodes of the symptoms of this symptom, accompanied by chest tightness, shortness of breath, can not supine, breathless breathing. At the same time, the incidence of allergic rhinitis is inseparable from dust mites. Because of the existence of pollution sources such as formaldehyde, second-hand smoke, dust, pollen, and dust mites, the use value of purifiers is only available.
Second-hand smoke: The harm of second-hand smoke is not to be underestimated. In the “Report on China’s Smoking Hazard Health” issued by the Ministry of Health, smokers in China over 15 years old are close to 30%; adult males are over 50% smoking, Chinese smokers Up to 301 million. Second-hand smoke is more harmful to children’s health, so it is especially important in smoking household purifiers.
Does the top rated home air purifiers work? 5 V. Formaldehyde: In China, in fact, users first understand the purifier, not smog but formaldehyde. Because of the “closed” decoration materials, formaldehyde is the main cause of indoor pollution and a unique pollution problem for Chinese families. Formaldehyde raw materials will be attached to the wardrobe, floor and paint, and it is a long-term volatile process. At the same time, harmful pollutants such as formaldehyde and benzene are also high pollutants. The incidence of “acute leukemia” is mostly caused by the renovation of the family. In the face of indoor air pollution, purifiers are a good choice.
There is an air purifier at home, so the original benefits are so much
In the case of outdoor air so bad, some measures must be taken to protect indoor air quality. With people’s attention to respiratory health and the dangers of smog, it is urgent to improve the indoor breathing environment. The indoor air purifier is not an accidental product, it appears to cope with the increasingly serious environmental conditions of this air pollution. Volkswagen has been entangled in whether or not to buy a home air purifier, to see the following reasons, tell you the benefits of adding air purifiers to the home!
1. Breathing people is inseparable from a moment, and fresh and healthy air is the first in the necessary conditions for people’s lives. Solving respiratory health problems is to protect people from respiratory diseases.
2, the winter smog has been plaguing the public, as soon as the temperature into the heating season, the smog is not lost. A large amount of PM2.5, hydrocarbons, and chemically harmful substances are hidden in the smog, which poses a certain threat to health. Formaldehyde, second-hand smoke, TVOC, etc., long-term breathing air pollutants, will hurt the lungs, hurt the cardiovascular, hurt the heart, hurt the brain, and cause life-threatening diseases.
3, after the renovation of new homes, formaldehyde has exceeded the standard has always been a headache for the owners. Many real cases of childhood leukemia have been alerting us, except for aldehydes.
This shows how important top 5 best air purifiers 2018 are in our lives. After the heating system is turned on, the interior will become warm and dry, and the concentration of carbon dioxide and other air pollutants will increase, which will pose a great threat to health. Therefore, what we can do in winter is to improve the indoor air quality through powerful means, and the top rated home air purifier is the best policy.
Which brand of air purifier is good? Many people have considered this problem when purchasing air purifiers. The air purifier can be analyzed from many aspects, such as the new national standard “three highs and one low”, the product’s inlet and outlet design, function, and filter life.
Through the investigation of some air purifiers that can remove formaldehyde on the market, it is found that there are mainly seven kinds of air purifiers on the market. 1. Activated carbon adsorption technology The porous structure of activated carbon gives it an adsorption property. In the selection of the amount of activated carbon and the size of the activated carbon, it is necessary to fully consider the influence of airflow and other factors. Selecting an appropriate amount of filling and a suitable particle size can fully and effectively enhance the adsorption capacity of the air purifier containing the activated carbon filter. In addition, most of the commercially available air purifiers are modified activated carbon. Air Proce’s AI-600 air purifier contains a combination of modified activated carbon and impregnated activated alumina TVOC filter. Activated carbon adsorption technology is relatively mature, but there are still deficiencies. Activated carbon is only adsorbed and does not decompose, and the adsorption saturation state of activated carbon is only temporary. This results in the activated carbon being cleaned or replaced in time if the adsorption of the activated carbon is saturated. This adds to the cost of used invisibly.
2. HEPA high-efficiency filtration technology HEPA (High-Efficiency particulate air filter) in the multi-layer filter in the air purifier shows a more important role. HEPA has an air filtration efficiency of more than 99.97% for 0.3 μm aerosols and is commonly used to remove submicron aerosol particles. In general, HEPA is randomly arranged from fibers having a finite specific surface area of 0.5 to 2 μm in diameter. Therefore, the high filtration efficiency of HEPA is usually at the expense of high resistance and low dust holding capacity. Oransi’s EJ120 air purifier uses HEPA high-efficiency filtration technology. The filter screen of the commercially available air purifier is not single, and the modified activated carbon filter is mainly combined with the HEPA filter, such as the Philips AC4076/01, Dyson Pure Cool AM11, and 352 X80 air purifiers. It is a composite filter.
3. Negative ion technology Negative ions can effectively remove a variety of toxic and harmful pollutants in the air, such as solid particles, soot, some VOCs, etc., because the pollutants in the air are basically positively charged, while the negative ions and particles generated by strong electric fields Contaminants and the like combine to form “heavy ions”, and sedimentation or adsorption occurs. Negative ions can also kill bacteria, and the purification effect is good. However, the household air purifier using this technology generates ozone and nitrogen oxides while generating negative ions, causing secondary pollution. The first country to apply negative ion technology to air purification is Germany. In addition to Germany’s advanced technology, Japan is also recognized as the world’s leading technology. In the 1980s, China began to introduce negative ion technology and developed and sold air purifiers using this technology. Air purifiers such as Mitsubishi Heavy Industries SPA-582AC, Leopard Rice Air Purifier 2, Panasonic F-PDF35C and Haier KJ-F200/EA all use negative ion technology combined with various filters to achieve efficient removal of indoor pollutants.
4. HIMOP material filtration technology HIMOP (Hyman), a high-performance composite strong oxidized modified ceramic particle, is a mung bean-sized spherical particle with a honeycomb magnetic pole surface. The material quickly captures harmful pollutants such as formaldehyde, benzene, TVOC, ammonia, and sulfur dioxide, and rapidly destroys its molecular structure and oxidizes it to carbon dioxide and water. The Hemman material is highly specific for formaldehyde and can be brought to national standards (0.1 mg/m3) in one hour. The Hayman air purifier consists of a 5-layer filter composite, one of which is a sieve of Heimer material. Although the removal of formaldehyde and other contaminants is good, the material is expensive and has higher production costs than other technologies.
5. Low-temperature asymmetric plasma air purification technology Low-temperature asymmetric plasma technology forms an asymmetric plasma electric field through high-voltage, high-frequency pulse discharge, causing a large number of plasmas in the air to collide step by step, resulting in a series of physical and chemical reactions, such as “avalanche effect.” The process of purifying the air with VOCs is described as a collision between high-energy electrons and VOCs, and the generation of free radicals and other active substances to purify VOCs. This technology has the advantages of energy-saving, no washing and washing, and strong purification ability. However, the downside is that the technology is currently widely used in industrial applications, and the technology has not yet been popularized in indoor air purifiers.
6. Photocatalytic Decomposition Technology Photocatalysis was discovered in 1972 by A. Fujishima and his instructor K. Honda. TiO2 semiconductors exhibit similar plant photosynthesis reactions under light conditions. The photocatalytic oxidation of formaldehyde in the production of formic acid intermediates that ultimately produce water and carbon dioxide. The research of photocatalysis technology is mostly in laboratory research, and there are not many types of research on the application of this technology in air purifiers. Air purifiers such as 3M, DESAY L352 and cado AP-C500-BK use this technology to remove indoor formaldehyde. In addition to the air purifier, the interior decoration will also mix TiO2 with concrete or plate the surface of the wall or ornament. This technology is highly efficient in removing formaldehyde and can decompose part of the pollutants. However, the fly in the ointment is that the technology requires ultraviolet light, and excessive ultraviolet light can cause various adverse symptoms in the human body. 7. Cold catalyst technology The biggest difference between cold catalyst technology and photocatalysis technology is that it does not require light to react. At normal temperature, the cold catalyst degrades while adsorbing formaldehyde, and decomposes formaldehyde and other harmful gases to form carbon dioxide and water. Although the cold catalyst technology has a good adsorption and decomposition effect, as the temperature and pressure change, the harmful gas adsorbed in the cold catalyst may desorb and pollute the air again. The Kirpal air purifier and the Chulux CL-AP2 air purifier apply this technology. Among the above principles of operation, the seven technologies used in air purifiers have their own advantages and disadvantages. Among these technologies, photocatalytic degradation technology has the advantages of economy, environmental protection and complete degradation of organic matter. At the same time, photocatalysts (such as TiO2) have the advantages of low cost, safety, high stability, high photocatalytic activity, etc., which can promote room temperature. Oxidation of major pollutants in indoor air.
The word smog has appeared frequently in our lives, which has caused people to heat up the corresponding home breathing health problems.
The ensuing topic about air purifiers is also endless. For example What brand is good? What performance is good to buy? Is it useful? How can I see the purification effect? ……
Today, we don’t discuss how serious indoor air pollution is, how much harm it will bring to family health. This is a lot of questions about Baidu’s search. Let’s share with you a few of you, me, and he will actually go. Consider the question, talk about whether the air purifier should be chosen this way.
@over 60 years old “Understanding your son’s filial piety is whether it is useful or not. I can’t see it.”
Aunt Zhang is over 60 years old, and her son is working outside. She lives with her husband and lives a life of worry-free life. She is very accepting of the current smart and convenient home appliances, and sometimes sighs from time to time, with them, their own small life has become better and better. But when she talked about the air purifier that her son bought for her, she also said her own voice: “My son always blames me for not opening the indoor air purifier at home. In fact, I just think that it is useless and invisible after opening. Like the water heater has a temperature display, I know that the water is hot; unlike the vacuum cleaner, the dirty things are sucked clean, the effect can be seen at a glance. The air in the home can not be seen, the air purifier is open I don’t know what effect it has, so I feel useless and I can’t think of it.”
@ novice mother “I understand that the air purifier is effective, but if I can see it, I am more at ease.”
The novice mother, Xiao Gu, pays great attention to family health issues, especially after having a baby. In addition to understanding a lot of theoretical knowledge, Xiao Gu is also very good at using them in their own lives, especially for the creation of home life, whether it is the environment, decoration, utensils, etc., even indoor air, drinking water, noise, etc. There are a set of questions that are closely related to health. When it comes to air purifiers, Xiao Gu said: “There are many indoor air problems. The harm of particulate matter, formaldehyde, harmful gases, viruses, etc. will exist for a long time. For the baby and family to breathe health, I know very well that it is necessary to use air purifiers. However, I especially want to see how the current purification effect is when the air purifier is turned on and to master the indoor air quality. After all, I can see more peace of mind.”
@ data tester “To be able to feedback a variety of air indexes, I am sure to buy one of these air purifiers.”
As a data tester, Xiao Chen seems to bring more benefits to people’s lives than others. Before staying in the newly renovated new house, it is also to open the window and ventilate and use various methods to remove the aldehyde. Buying air purifier has become one of Xiao Chen’s must-have lessons. Xiao Chen said: “In order to make the air in the home better, the action is necessary. Buy an air purifier to solve most of the indoor air pollution problems, why not do it. If there is a digital purification Products with air quality conditions are just fine. If you can display multiple pollutant indices, it will be even more bullish. If you look at it, it will be clear. I will definitely start.”
Why do you say that there is no fog in summer, but you still have to open an air purifier?
As soon as summer arrived, the foggy days in Beijing were significantly less, especially during the “Belt and Road” summit. Many people turned off their own top-rated air purifiers and enjoyed the blue sky. However, what most people don’t know is that behind this kind of enjoyment, there is still hidden risk. There are still shocking air pollution under the blue sky, but the pollution does not exist outside, but exists indoors.
There is a fog in winter and TVOC in summer.
Today, everyone knows to guard against smog in the winter but ignores the “TVOC” in the summer. The so-called “TVOC” is the abbreviation of Total Volatile Organic Compounds, which refers to indoor organic gaseous substances, also known as total volatile organic compounds, including carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, carbonic acid, metal carbides and other toxic and harmful gases in the air.
There are many sources of pollution indoors, and whether it is summer or winter, it is equally polluted, especially in summer.
The release of indoor pollution such as formaldehyde is greatly affected by temperature, and the indoor and outdoor temperatures are high in summer, so it is easy to cause indoor pollutant concentration to exceed the standard. For every 1 °C rise in room temperature, formaldehyde volatilized from wooden furniture and flooring will increase the concentration of formaldehyde in the air by 0.15 to 0.37 times. Therefore, the volatilization of paints such as benzene and ammonia is more serious in summer than in winter, and radioactive cesium is often contained in household tiles. This serious carcinogenic gas also spreads with increasing temperature.
In addition, there are more air conditioners in summer, indoor ventilation is not ventilated, and indoor pollutants remaining in the decoration gather. Many household air conditioners do not clean and cause secondary pollution. The bacteria and microorganisms are gradually deposited, and cold air with harmful substances is added. After the respiratory tract, not only will people feel dry mouth and mouth, there will be mild cold symptoms, and in severe cases, it will cause various respiratory diseases, which is what we often call “air conditioning disease.”
The World Health Organization has listed indoor air pollution as a top 10 threat to human health, including hypertension, hypercholesterolemia,
and obesity. The main culprit of respiratory diseases and intestinal infections and even leukemia, which are predisposed to infants and young children, are also closely related to indoor air pollution.
At present, indoor air pollution has not caused much attention in China, but I believe that with the further popularization of the media, the concept of TVOC in the future will be as popular as the smog.
How to effectively reduce indoor air pollution?
How to prevent indoor air pollution in the summer? Especially after the renovation, many families will adopt some soil methods other than formaldehyde in order to prevent the concentration of formaldehyde and radioactive cesium from being too high, but these remedies do not necessarily work.
1, window ventilation, only the standard is not cured
The most common method is to open the doors and windows for long periods of time. Many Chinese families generally open a new home window after the renovation and then stay in the air for several months to six months. But we all know that formaldehyde has certain volatility, and the rate of volatilization has a great relationship with the temperature and humidity of the environment. The higher the temperature, the higher the humidity, the greater the volatilization speed. Therefore, formaldehyde can be removed to some extent by ventilation, but this method can only relieve the effect.
However, formaldehyde exists in three states: free state, adsorbed state, and combined state. According to a report in the China Daily in 2016, only formaldehyde in the free state can be eliminated by ventilation, and it can be eliminated more than 4 times the normal wind speed. In addition, the concentration of formaldehyde in indoor air is related to many factors, such as indoor temperature, indoor relative humidity, indoor ventilation, etc., which will increase the intensity of formaldehyde emission under high temperature and high humidity conditions.
Studies at Yokohama National University in Japan have shown that the release period of indoor formaldehyde is generally 3-15 years, and it is impossible to remove indoor formaldehyde after ventilation after renovation. However, in later life, the radioactive cesium in formaldehyde and ceramic tiles in wooden furniture will continue to volatilize. This volatiles is not completely eliminated after ventilation but are accompanied by long-term residence.
2, bamboo charcoal bags, plants, fruit skins are floating clouds
Many people hope to absorb formaldehyde in bamboo charcoal bags, formaldehyde scavengers, vinegar, plants, and fruit peels. The Zheda Ice Pest Laboratory conducted special experiments on this. They selected bamboo charcoal bags, formaldehyde scavengers, vinegar, plants, and fruit peels, as well as rooms that were completed for 3 months as experimental rooms.
The data shows that the formaldehyde concentration in this 10 square meter room is 0.196mg/m3, which is nearly double the national standard of 0.1mg/m3. After 3 days, it was found that formaldehyde was removed by bamboo charcoal. The concentration of formaldehyde in the air was 0.190 mg/m3, the test data of vinegar was 0.198 mg/m3, the detection of fruit peel was 0.201 mg/m3, and the test data of formaldehyde scavenger and plant were 0.196. Mg/m3.
In other words, these five measures do not have much effect on eliminating decoration pollution. The core reason is that formaldehyde is continuously emitted, and passive absorption is very inefficient. The most typical is the plant, which has a very limited breathing capacity, usually in the microgram (one-millionth of a gram) level, which is almost negligible.
3. The logical paradox of environmentally friendly building materials not being environmentally friendly
In consideration of the ineffectiveness of these methods, some families have tried to adopt the “environmental building materials” promoted on the market. However, in fact, environmentally-friendly decorative materials only refer to the release of harmful substances within the state and do not mean that there is no formaldehyde release.
More contradictory is that the national GB18584-2001 “Limited Quantity of Hazardous Substances in Wood Furniture for Interior Decoration Materials” requires that the amount of formaldehyde released should be ≤1.5mg/L to meet the standard. Since the implementation of the standard for many years, after the development of the industry and the promotion of the merchants, many consumers have already known that the E1 standard is “≤1.5mg/L”, which has become the “minimum standard” for the emission limit of many finished products such as wooden doors. .
But the drawback of this standard is that if the furniture uses this material, the larger the volume, the more formaldehyde is released. Therefore, the more indoor furniture under the domestic environmental protection standards, the excessive release of formaldehyde content is likely to exceed the standard. That is to say, even if every piece of furniture and every building material is environmentally friendly, the amount used in a house may cause excessive pollution in the room. To achieve true health, you must have a higher standard than the standard.
Eliminate TVOC and trust professional equipment
After learning a series of “unreliable” methods of removing formaldehyde, everyone must have doubts. Is there really no good way to deal with formaldehyde? In fact, at present, it is relatively recognized internationally that a relatively effective means is to carry out formaldehyde adsorption in the environment through the high adsorption of activated carbon. Different from the large pore size design of bamboo charcoal material, the pore diameter inside the activated carbon is relatively small, and it can effectively filter and adsorb formaldehyde gas molecules and can achieve good results.
The activated carbon was industrially designed to enter the home scene, and an air purifier product with formaldehyde removal function came into being. However, some purifier filters cannot decompose formaldehyde to represent gaseous air pollutants. To effectively purify the pollution, it is necessary to use a purifier equipped with an activated carbon filter.
In fact, in developed countries in Europe and America, indoor air purifiers have become an essential electrical appliance at home, just like refrigerator color TV washing machines. Part of the reason why people in developed countries with relatively good environments still consume air purifiers is medical reasons. On the one hand, respiratory diseases such as asthma will cause some people to have higher air quality requirements, and on the other hand, they have special requirements for the quality of the air environment. Air purifiers play an important role in daily households in Europe and the United States. The root cause is that European and American residents have a relatively high awareness of indoor air pollution.
In fact, air purifiers are widely welcomed because air purifiers are based on passive adsorption of activated carbon, through scientific air duct design, more professional air quality sensors and more intuitive air quality display modes, enabling air purification. The device not only realizes high-efficiency formaldehyde adsorption purification but also helps users to intuitively understand the air quality of the current environment and make the air purification process truly “visible”.
